Finger Wave Updo

In an era defined by down-to-there hair extensions, a simple finger wave really stood out on Emmy Rossum at the season premiere of Shameless. It may look complicated, but it’s easy enough to replicate at home. Mist hair with extra-hold spray before rolling the pieces closest to your face into small (about 1-inch thick) curlers. Leave in for about 10 minutes and release. Smooth your strands into a deep side part with a lightweight gel to eliminate flyaways. Tie loosely into a low-slung bun so you can see the curls framing the face. Pair with art-deco jewels and a vintage inspired dress to finish off the look.
