Cat Eye Liner

At the premiere of Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, Emily Blunt paired a retro-inspired cat eye with a petal pink lip. “I was very inspired by Emily’s dress, and drew upon its chic 50s-esque silhouette for her look,” said Blunt’s makeup artist Jenn Streicher. While a sharp cat eye may seem intimidating for beginners, you can create the same graphic line by looking for a liquid liner with a felt-tipped applicator. The pointed edge makes a breeze out of sweeping the inky liquid on, and bringing the line to a point. But be sure not to raise your eyebrows—while a slight brow arch may feel natural as you define your eyes, you could end up with uneven lines.
