At the amfAR Gala in New York City, Rose Byrne's makeup artist Eric Polito gave the star a neutral glow with a slight focus on the lips. The key to such a precisely balanced look? Clean and even skin—Polito started by cleansing and moisturizing Byrne's face before applying a dewy beige foundation—and an understated blush. (He chose a subtle peach that "wouldn't compete with the lip.") The lips were the finishing touch: "I lined and filled them with a mellow red lip liner, then topped it with a satiny, wine-toned lipstick." The layered products create a more intense, long-lasting finish.
